Conventional is something that Shabby Katchadourian most certainly is not, so what would be the point in an ordinary interview? We gave Shabby the reigns to take-over our Twitter, no holds barred, to get personal with you. Here’s how it went.
When can we expect an album?
Full length album will be coming in the first quarter of next year I think. We’re releasing another single first though. It’s called ‘When The World Ends’, it’s a post-apocalyptic alt-rock tune.
If you were only allowed to see one person on a desert island for the rest of your life, who would it be?
One person for the rest of my life?! Hm, that’s difficult. Can I take my cat instead?
What are your plans for Christmas?
Either an Egyptian cruise with Naj (Bueno) or gonna go see my ma!
Do you have any party tricks?
I do have a party trick oui. Can’t go into too many details on that though!
Have you ever felt uncomfortable with your sexuality?
I was very lucky growing up re: my sexuality. It wasn’t half as hard as I know it can be.
When did you realise you were gay?
I think I always knew to be honest, always fancied girls from a very young age.
Funniest fan experience?
Having my boobs nearly pulled off by a group of chicks. Scary.
If you weren’t into music or acting, what would you end up doing?
I’ve quit acting for now as I don’t really have time. So, apart from music…designing long-boards.
When does filming start for the TV show?
Filming starts for the new show next week. Exciting times. The show is about me and a few others, Voodoo Hussy will feature in it though as they’re a massive part of my life. Oh and we’re hoping to do some filming for it on the ‘Tee Tour’.
How is the Inner City Waves project doing?
It’s going well. We have meetings with major labels just after Christmas.
What is your favourite No Doubt song?
Start the Fire or Trapped in A Box, hells yeah!
What have you asked for this Christmas?
An art set, some CD’s and some long-boarding gloves.
Tell us a joke?
A joke? but I have no sense of humour!
You’ve broken hearts but have you ever had your heart broken?
I have had my heart broken, yes, this summer. But I forgive her. Totally. It was an important learning curve for me, and to have it happen the way it did, taught me a lot.
What is your biggest pet hate?
Bad tube etiquette.
Do you get a bit anxious with all the attention?
I do, but only because I’m shyer than people realise. It’s difficult sometimes. I feel better fronting the band than talking to strangers. I get tongue-tied.

Who inspires you?
Billy-Jo from Green Day and V from V for Vendetta.
What’s your favourite song?
That’s a tough one. Right now, off the top of my head, St Vincent – Paris is Burning (not Ladyhawke)
If you could give your teenage self some advice, what would it be?
I’d say “you have nothing to prove”
If you could do Big Brother again, would you?
Nah. I like my life. I’m thankful to Big Brother for the lessons I learned about myself and others. But no.

Clarence from True Romance
What’s the weirdest food you have ever eaten?
Wallaby. Oh and Frog porridge.
If Voodoo Hussy could tour anywhere, where would it be?
We wanna do the Warped Tour over in the USA in 2011.
Where did the name Voodoo Hussy come from?
I’m not a great fan of our name, just two irrelevant words thrown haphazardly together.
Items you can’t live without on tour?
Personal CD player and lots of warm layers.
Have you or will you add any covers to your shows?
We’ve never really done covers, might add a couple for the next tour.
What do you really think of your band mates and managers?
I heart my band mates and managers, but could sometimes punch them.
What do you hope to achieve in 5 years time?
I hope Voodoo Hussy will have achieved cult success and RCOD will be a well-known skate T-shirt company.
Which female musician would you like to do a duet with?
I’d love to do a duet with MIA or Lady Sov!
What do you first notice when you meet someone?
I first notice that little flaw or thing that makes them unique, and I love those flaws.
If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?
I wish I could have met TS Eliot and Kurt Cobain. Alive now?
Lily Loveless, she is buff!
When did you really come into your style?
When I stopped being a teenager! That was a bizarre looking time for me.
