After a successful tour with Arch Enemy in 2010, Chthonic are back to play a one-off show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on December 6th – this is part of Arch Enemy’s ‘KHAOS 2011 Tour’, with Warbringer also featuring on the bill.
This show follows in the wake of the Turisas ‘Stand Up And Fight’ UK tour (Oct/Nov), on which Chthonic will be Special Guests, with Spinefarm label-mates, heroic metallers KIUAS, opening up the bill.
Chthonic have just released their latest album, ‘Takasago Army’, through Spinefarm Records, and a new single from this acclaimed release will be issued in support of the Turisas tour. Titled ‘Broken Jade’, this epic track features the WW2 surrender speech from Emperor Hirohito, and it will be available with both English & Taiwanese vocals.
In other news, the band is running a cool competition to fly one lucky winner and friend to Taiwan for a very special outdoor concert at the Sing-Ling temple in Puli, Taiwan.
Sing-Ling temple is an ancient battlefield and a historical landmark of Puli town. As well as being an essential part of their latest 3 albums, a trilogy story, Chthonic have also written 2 songs that adopt Sing-Ling temple in the titles. One is ‘Sing-Ling Temple’ from the album ‘Mirror of Retribution’, and the other one is ‘Quell the Souls in Sing-Ling Temple’ from the new album ‘TAKASAGO ARMY’.A concert at Sing-Ling temple is definitely one of the most important moments for the band, and it’s not just for Taiwanese fans, but also open to fans from all over the world as there are 2 flight tickets to give away to the overseas fans!
To join the contest, all you have to do is to upload a video clip of your singing TAKAO’s Taiwanese chorus part. You can see a couple of examples here:
