My Tiny Robots – ‘Guild Of Defiants’

Scottish quartet My Tiny Robots are due to release the first of three new singles on the 14th November, beginning with the pleasingly catchy ’Guild Of Defiants’. After the success of their debut EP ‘Some Of My Best Ideas’, and the follow-up ‘Rock Bossa Nova Four Beat Black’, My Tiny Robots have got a lot to live up to.

‘Guild Of Defiants’ has an undoubted hook, especially with the chorus that will have you singing along even after the first listen, but it’s difficult to tell if there’s anything new to play with. While the track is well composed, beautifully harmonised, and tightly instrumented, nothing incredible strikes out at me. It’s fun and easy to listen to, which is great. But if you’re looking for something groundbreaking, this isn’t necessarily it.

My Tiny Robots are however doing very well for themselves, and I expect will rightly continue to do so. They already have a list of stage shares with a number of respected artists including The Maccabees , Jack Penate, and the Dum Dum Girls, and there’s no doubt that fans will be eagerly anticipating the winter release of their three new singles.  Well worth a listen.

My Tiny Robots new single ‘Guild Of Defiants’ is released on Woodthief Records on the 14th November.
